and "hear" we go...

Greetings all! I decided to make a blog especially for the new album Brighter Side. So far we are only two days into the album, but I hope to bring you a sort of day-by-day play with this blog of what is going on in the studio. We'll be working until July 31st, and then the files will be sent out to Los Angeles to be mixed. As of right now the plan is to release the album digitally in December, then on CD in January.

I recently got a really cool little video camera called The Flip which I will have with me during the sessions and will be posting videos right here in each blog. So, without further adieu - here are some clips from the first two days...

We started in the studio Wednesday June 27th, recording scratch tracks with the click to figure out the tempo for each song. I have nineteen songs written but will choose twelve for Brighter Side. The remaining songs may appear on a bonus disc of some sort. Day 2 (June 29th) we recorded various songs for what may be an 'Acoustic Sessions 2'. Tomorrow I pick up Ed Toth from the airport, who is flying in to record drums for a few days. Some of you might know Ed from the band Vertical Horizon, but lately he has been touring with the Doobie Brothers.

So with that said, welcome to the blog and enjoy keeping up! See you tomorrow

-Brad
